Mike had his annual Fire Open house this weekend! My mom and dad joined me this year to hang out and watch Mike in his element! ;) We had a really fun time getting the "low down" on all of the fire apparatus! =)
I'm very proud of him!
Showing my mom all the parts on the engine!
I've just learned to nod my head and pretend that I know what he is talking about! ;)
They were very excited they got such a personal tour!
Very glad we went! =) Thanks Mike!

Disneyland Trick or Treating!
We had a blast at Mickey's Trick or Treat party again this year at California Adventure! If you haven't been, you need to! It's all about the trick or treating...Yum..all the candy you could ask for (we're talking as much candy as you can fit in your bag)!Makena was a mermaid this year and loved her costume...it surely shows on her sweet little face!
Look at that big grin! You knew once you opened up a piece of candy, she appeared out of nowhere to ask for a bite! Sounds familiar! ;)
The Toy Story ride is a blast! Even if I never beat Mike! =(

Kevin, must you do that?!
She loves her Uncle Mike!
Apple Picking
Air Show
I was talked into going to the air show in San Diego by Mike! He had told me countless times that he really wanted to go this year since he hadn't been since he was little. I had sucked it up and went even though I thought for sure I would be bored. I must admit, it was a great experience and we had a great time!

Soon....
So my internet crashed and won't open! =( I had to resort to Mike's computer, which I can't stand (no pictures and not to mention, it is by far the slowest computer!)!! As soon as I get mine working, I will update this poor neglected blog of mine! A lot of update...
P.S. Chessa, I am so jealous of your craft blog! If I can't keep up with this one, I have no future in a second one (especially a creative one like yours! =( )

A simple "Thank You"!!
Mike and I were truly spoiled a few weeks ago when our friend Amber made a special appointment for us to shop in the Volcom employee store (yipeee!)! We were so excited (Fun shopping and adorable clothes...Mike went more crazy than me...can you believe that!)! To show our appreciation I made her a little thank you treat! Marshmallow treats (to die for!), a cute yellow bowl from Anthro (of course!), and to make it complete, a yellow flower headband! Thought I would share this simple gift with you all!

On The MOVE Again....
When you think you have finally settled down, life throws you that curve ball! I'm on THE MOVE AGAIN! You're probably thinking that we're moving (as in we sold our house and we are picking up and leaving lovely Carlsbad)...NOPE! Just moving GRADE LEVELS folks (due to low enrollment in Kinder, I'm moving :( )! I'm sad to leave Kindergarten behind, but I'm looking forward to starting again in 3rd! I am very excited though because I'll be back with my old team who I love dearly! I will miss my Kinder team MUCHO (Cristin, can I still come in your room when I need to? Jennie, I will promise to share my ideas with you!)!!! What an exciting turn of events!! This is my 4th move at the same school and 4th classroom! Whew! I'm getting pretty good at this whole "setting up my classroom at the last minute" thing!! =)

Following in one crafty lady's footsteps...
I got this adorable idea from Chessa (You must check out her adorable ideas on her blog...love them!)...I've made two boards so far and I'm loving them! The boards were so easy to make and the magnets too! I will be making a few more for my classroom! Thanks Chessa! ;)

The best little treat! (Dangerous though!)
I made these delicious treats last week! Mike loved them (of course...anything with sugar!! ugh!)! I got the idea from one of parents from last year (I only had her daughter for a few weeks, but the treats didn't stop! Thanks Janelle!) who made these killer little treats! I provided the directions for you to try them...mmmm!! :) If you like sweet and salty, you will for sure love these!
30 Rolos
30 square pretzels
M&Ms
Heat oven to 225 and bake for 5 minutes. When they come out, press a M&M into the center! Perhaps a good little teacher treat at the beginning of the year...hint, hint! ;) Just a thought! :)

So much updating!
I have a ton to share...the following posts are lengthy so be prepared! =) I'll share all of the fun organizing I have been doing lately too (hopefully tomorrow)! =)
Last Summer BBQ at Paradise Point!
We had our last summer bbq before most of us head back to school! This time we changed it up and went to Paradise Point in Mission Bay! What a nice change and fun too!
We were all so glad Emma is feeling better! Now Amber, we need to get you guys out of Temecula more often! ;)
Abbey and Jennie The Kindergarten crew! Yes girls...we have to go back very soon :(
Wine with some cheese? Yes please!!
And the PONIES are off...
Old Town San Diego Fun
After a long day of shopping, Caradee and I decided to get some yummy food in Old Town! We couldn't leave without taking a trip to The Whaley house! Pretty SCARY! It was sure fun though (It was a first trip for both of us!) We ended the night by getting a yummy dessert (bunuelos!) because the trip to Old Town would not be complete without an authentic dessert!! Mmmm!

Just a little something I did...(hope to make more)
I was really in the mood to make something over the last couple of weeks that was crafty (again, I'm trying!). With a kick of "craftiness" from my mom, away I went! Loved the idea that I saw on The Pleated Poppy so I ran with it and made them my own! Here are my creations I hope to possibly eventually sell someday hopefully...these flowers will be made into HEADBANDS...I also have another idea that I will share in a few days hopefully...here are just a few of the creations! Enjoy! ;)
P.S. Don't look too closely at our granite! It needs serious polishing! Ugh!

Girls Trip to Palm Springs....HOT!!!
When I heard I was going on a girls trip, I immediately thought of relaxing by the pool or at the beach (thinking this was going to be a coastal destination perhaps....San Diego?!)! Little did I know we would be relaxing in the HOT HEAT (118 degrees) in PALM SPRINGS!! Las Vegas is just as hot, but at least there, the pools are nice and cool and you are inside most of the time!
Stepping out of the car for the first time was insane! We were so hot already that I sensed we were all ready to give up being outside at all and head into the hotel room...the rooms weren't ready yet so we enjoyed a yummy lunch at the Cheesecake Factory! When we finished, we ventured to our hotel (Rancho Las Palmas) for what we thought would be a relaxing time by the pool.....not what we had planned. It was the most unfreshing pool we'd ever been in! Maybe 95 degrees! To make the adventure better, we got into the lazy river, leaving our shoes where we got in so our feet wouldn't melt when we got out and to our surprise, everyone was told to get out of the pool because something had happend. We had to make a quick leap out of the pool at the stop before our shoes....BURNED FEET was the result! We couldn't stop laughing at what had just happend! Having all had enough, we went and hung out in the air conditioned room for hours chatting and having a nice and relaxing time together! By night time, we ventured to another pool where we sat out for hours trying to stay cool! We had a nice dinner at P.F. Changs to top off the night! The following day was spent shopping (of course)! Despite the heat, it was a great time together and we truly did have a ton of fun!! San Diego next time, ladies??!!! My sister said it best, "Best wishes to those who are going to Palm Springs in the summer!" =)
Big grins, but sweating like crazy!
Sisters?! We do say Feliza is one of our sisters!
Arlene, Holly (mommy-to-be!) and Vickie
