Couldn't resist these JARS 4 my own house!

These jars are simple to make so I provided the places where to find everything that I used
to make them!
I found these simple jars at Walmart
(good place to buy them to cut some costs...I believe they were $10.00 for 12).

The beads were found at Michaels along with the floral wire.

Make sure to look for the crushed shells there too!

The bag of sand was a great price at Walmart and went a long way!

I bought smaller jars, too, to make little lanterns...they make cute little hostess gifts!

Parent Volunteer Gifts

I had wonderful parent volunteers this year in Kindergarten! It is always fun to think of unique gifts to show them how much you appreciate them. Well, the end of the year came and I was running out of time (of course!) and ideas. I decided to create these fun summer lanterns...I got the idea at Pottery Barn when I saw plain mason jar lanterns...had to add my own twist and a little touch of creativity! I just had to make a few for our house and for some friends! I am lovin' these Mason jars! I have found a ton of ways to use them lately (will post those ideas later too).

Fortunes!

(Boring! No chocolate or sprinkles!!)

I was feeling creative today so I thought I would try something new! I decided to dip fortune cookies for the first time and was anxious to see how they would come out! They are so expensive to buy when they are dipped, but yet so yummy! I thought I would save some money and try them on my own. Since this was my very first attempt, I stocked up on a few cookies from our favorite Chinese restaurant, Pei Wei! I dipped a few just to try them out and see if they would turn out the way that I had hoped they would! Well, they did so I made a trip to the store and bought some more!
(This chocolate can be found in the produce section...it is really yummy and easy to use!)

(Look at those beauties!)

Since we were going to the Montoya's for a Father's Day BBQ, I took these yummy cookies over for a treat! They were a hit and thank goodness we had leftovers!! Yum! Super easy and fun to make too!

Beach Day!

It was a fun day at the beach today! Still a little pink from yesterday from laying out, but the beach is fun no matter what! Jodi and baby Drew came down to hang out at my favorite beach spot in, of course, Carlsbad! We had a nice time catching up, playing with Drew, and watching Brett surf! By the look on Drew's face, it looks like he wasn't having a blast (see the tongue sticking out and the frown?!!....he was being silly and I forgot to snap a smile for a picture!), but he sure enjoyed it! A true beach boy! Looking forward to more beach days soon!!

Go Padres!!

For Mike's dad's birthday, we all went to Angel stadium to see the Padres beat the Angels! Well...Mike and I thought that was going to happen, but we were wrong! =( The Angels ended up winning! All in all, it was a fun day and Mike and I had a fun time with his family!

Good times...

Mike and I had Brian, Amber, and Caden over for some yummy dinner and some Laker game watching! I let Mike be the chef (he definately has the firefighter cooking gene already! The boy loves to cook...did I say Mexican food?! He would cook/eat Mexican food everyday if he could!) and he made the best Mexican dinner for us! We all had a blast catching up and relaxing! Caden is adorable! Isn't he so handsome?!!

Onesies (Part 2)

This is the last onesie that I made...just simple with the ribbon and buttons!
Ta da! Of course I am a procrastinator so I waited until the last minute frantically running to the nearby quilt store (an absolutely adorable store...not a place to go right before they are going to close though because there is so much to look at!) and calling Janene on the way to ask her what Gavin's nursery colors were going to be because I just could not let the idea go that I had in my head for the bucket! I, of course, wasn't looking for the bucket when I came across it at Target (of all places..right?! Love it!)! It was a definite team effort....I glued the buttons on (well Mike helped me with the super glue and managed to get it all over him....sorry!) and my mom tore the strips of fabric for the handles (at 11:oo the night before...did I say I was a procrastinator?!) What can a girl do when you're trying to finish the onesies? Call in the troops! =) Thanks mom and Mike!

Baby Gavin's onesies...(Part 1)

I decided to try something new and made Janene onesies for her shower! I was really impressed by the way they came out! They were super easy and fun to do! I will post the cute little bucket that I put them into too! I'm sure baby Gavin will look so handsome in them! =)

Finally...

Summer vacation is here and my internet is working (thanks to poor Mike who was on the phone for hours trying to fix it!!)....YAHOOOOOOOO!!!! I promised that once summer came I would begin my blog...here I am! I am excited to keep a journal of our lives (that is because of course, I am so unlike my sister in the fact that she scarpbooks every little thing) and hopefully share fun and simple craft ideas (I will try and keep up with all of the amazing blogs out there, but I know I have a long way to go! Enjoy! =)
